Platform Scope

What Belongs on Sema?

Sema is a platform for community and societal challenges where practical solutions can be proposed, refined, and acted upon.

We believe good ideas can come from anyone. A solution does not need a government budget, a large organization, or a national campaign to make a difference. Sometimes meaningful change starts with one person, one family, one school, one business, one community group, or one organization taking action.

At the same time, when enough people participate, discuss, vote, and share implementation stories, the insights generated can help inform larger conversations and even influence institutions, organizations, and policymakers.

Sema Is About Solutions

Sema is not a platform for complaints alone. Every discussion should follow a simple principle:

Problem → Solution → Action

Instead of

❌ "This is a problem."

We encourage

✅ "This is a problem. Here is a possible solution. Here is how it could be implemented."

The goal is not just to identify challenges, but to discover practical actions that can improve everyday life.

The Sema Test

Before posting a challenge, ask:

  1. 1.Does this issue affect more than just me?
  2. 2.Can practical solutions be proposed?
  3. 3.Could a person, group, organization, business, school, community, or institution realistically take action?
  4. 4.Will this discussion move beyond complaints toward solutions?

If the answer is yes, it probably belongs on Sema.

Because good ideas deserve more than likes.

They deserve a chance to become action.
